Post by: Nick Venturella (some of the links in this post are affiliate links) If you're anything like me, you're likely tested everyday in some way, shape, or form. The most recent developments of the coronavirus spread is just another such test. I'm confident we (people - you and I) can get through this tough time, but we certainly do have to rally together, even as we distance ourselves from one another, and do what we each can to help flatten the curve of the spreading illness. Many people I know work in positions that can reasonably easily allow for remote working at home. Even the educators are able to take advantage of this technology at the moment. However, having your whole family at home at the same time while still trying to get work done, tending to your kids, and helping them retain some daily structure and school instruction will be no easy feat...yet, it is doable. I believe we can do this. It certainly won't be perfect, and imperfection is okay, but failure is not an option. Need some tips for working at home with kids. A friend of mine posted this to social media - it's a good list. If you're part of the gig economy you may be losing income as a result of so many cancellations of events and other activities. You're not alone, and you too can get through this.
As a musician myself, I've already lost hundreds of dollars in performance revenue due to cancelled shows. Now is the time, if you haven't already, to begin building an online infrastructure to conduct business. Easily set up a website to begin communicating about the products/services you can provide. Create products people can purchase online. Write and publish books that can help others. Set up a digital service on Fiverr to offer your skills online to individuals and other businesses who need them. Here are additional resources for freelancers during this tough time. Hang in there. Stay positive. Be kind and humane to one another. Comments are closed.
