Finding new ways to network and share your expertise is something on my mind often as a business owner. For one, the more new people you can meet the more opportunities you potentially have to help others, which usually finds a way of coming back to benefit you -- you may just not always be able to immediately identify how or when. The point is, the more 'at bats' you get to expand your network helps you build a positive referral pipeline. You just never know when you meet someone new, what they know or who they might know who could help you. As a rule of thumb in that situation it's always helpful to be generous with your knowledge and network of contacts. If you can find a way to be a positive resource without expecting anything in return the person you help that will likely be sure to keep you in mind when they are in a position to return the favor. I found a real estate professional who has identified a good method for networking and helping others to his benefit. Michael Domenichetti (find him at http://hispersonalbest.com) spends a good deal of time at his local coffee shop that on his website he invites people to come have coffee with him, and they can get free answer to their real estate questions. It seems like it's working out for Michael as he has an entire page on his website dedicated to inviting folks to have coffee with him.
